Are Oats Gluten Free?

This has been a long standing debate. I am gathering from what I have read that the closest you can get to “Gluten Free” oats is found with Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Oats. While this does state that it is “gluten free”, the sensitivity test for gluten does not detect the presence of gluten if it is less than 10 parts per million. These are the safest oats on the market at present.  However, any food that is processed at all runs the risk of cross contamination. So just do your homework, look for the oats that are maked with a gluten free label.  Just keep in mind that if it is processed you always run a slight risk.

Who’s the Real King?

Since the ancient of times, Alfalfa has been named the “king of herbs”.  With roots that can grow up to 70 feet deep, alfalfa can absorb nutirients that no other plants can reach.  It has been said to be one of the most nutritious foods available to man.  Many herbalists agree that it can be beneficial for many problems.  It helps the body assimilate protein, calcium, and other essential nutrients. Alfalfa has been used for centuries to support the Cardiovascular, Digestive, Structural, and Nervous Systems.  Supplementing your diet with alfalfa can help with, but is NOT limited to anemia, arthritis, food allergies, colon problems, and cholesterol.  Since trace mineral and amino acid deficiencies negatively impact the pituitary gland, alfalfa is a powerhouse of nutrients for the pituitary.  It acts as a mild blood purifier.  Alfalfa can be consumed in a pill form or in a tea.  You can also gain the benefits of alfalfa by drinking Liquid Chlorophyll.  Chlorophyll tastes like spearmint and is added to water.  To read more about the benefits of alfalfa go to my website.

Candida/Yeast Diet

Most of my clients know that my journey in Natural Health began with systemic yeast.  I have gotten really good at training people how to eliminate certain foods from their diets to starve yeast. However, there are lots of diets out there that are a little extreme.  In some cases extreme measures are necessary but a collegue of mine has shared this simple candida diet with me and I would like to share it with you as a baseline.  Thanks Dr. Anstett for sharing your knowledge with us all!

Dark Leafy Greens

The darker the green leaves, the more nutritious the lettuce. Romaine lettuce has six times more vitamin C and five times more bet-carotene than iceberg lettuce.  Always look for organic choices when buying lettuce.  Lettuce can be heavily sprayed with pesticides.
